HK Highways invention wins two awards in Geneva
An intelligent robotic system, developed by the Highways Department and the Hong Kong Productivity Council, won a Gold Medal with Congratulations of the Jury at the 47th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva in Switzerland (April 12). The invention also received an Honorable Mention Prize of the Chinese Delegation for Invention and Innovation.
The automated system, fitted with cameras, sensors and robotic arms, is used to place and collect traffic cones and lanterns on public roads, enhancing workplace safety. Capable of intelligently reading its surroundings, it is the first of its kind in the world.
