Boost for Hong Kong's legal hub status!⚖️ The Italy-based International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT) has moved closer to establishing the UNIDROIT Liaison Office for the Asia-Pacific Region in the Hong Kong SAR, the organisation's first regional presence outside Rome in its 100-year history. Yesterday (Mar 12), Secretary for Justice Paul Lam and the Secretary-General of the UNIDROIT Professor Ignacio Tirado, signed a memorandum of administrative arrangements on establishing the Liaison Office, which is expected to open in November this year.
