Middle East Mission Accomplished! "The visit is successful," said John Lee, Chief Executive of the HKSAR, at the end of a high-level delegation visit to Qatar and Kuwait. On the final of the trip (May 14), Mr Lee met representatives of the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority and exchanged views with local government and business leaders. He also witnessed the signing of some of the 24 MOUs and agreements exchanged between government departments, enterprises, and organisations from Hong Kong, Mainland China, and Kuwait. The visit resulted in a total of 59 MOUs and agreements, including those in both Qatar and Kuwait. Mr Lee also announced that the United Arab Emirates will grant Hong Kong 30-day visa-free access starting today (May 15), while Oman will on the same date extend its visa-free period from 10 days to 14 days. The visit is notable for being the first time for Mr Lee to lead Mainland enterprises on an outbound mission, demonstrating Hong Kong's strengths under the "one country, two systems" principle in connecting China and the world.

中東之行成果豐碩。行政長官李家超在總結香港加內地企業商貿代表團訪問卡塔爾和科威特行程時表示，今次訪問整體是成功的。訪問行程最後一日（5月14日），李家超與科威特直接投資促進局成員會面，與當地政商界領袖交流，並見證香港、內地和科威特的政府部門、企業和機構交換和宣布了24項合作備忘錄和合作協議，今次訪問與卡塔爾和科威特達成了共59項合作備忘錄和協議。李家超宣布由今日（5月15日）起，阿聯酋會給予香港30天免簽安排，阿曼亦會於同日起延長免簽入境期限，由最長10天增加至最長14天。這次商貿代表團，行政長官更首次帶領內地企業參加，目的是發揮好香港在「一國兩制」下內聯外通的優勢，通過深化國際交往合作，體現香港「超級聯繫人」和「超級增值人」的角色，做好企業「引進來、走出去」的橋樑作用。
