In the vast expanse of Chinese history, Tang dynasty (618–907) is a dazzling star. Literature and art flourished, resulting in the creation of timeless works of poetry, prose, music, dance, calligraphy, painting and sculpture. The exhibition features altogether 298 pieces/sets of exhibits which are drawn from 28 cultural institutions in 10 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities in Chinese Mainland and 29 important archaeological finds dated to Tang dynasty unearthed in Hong Kong.
